²“^(A)Repent, for ^(B)the kingdom of heaven ^[a]is at hand.” ³For this is the ^(C)one referred to ^[b]by Isaiah the prophet when he said,

“^(D)The voice of one ^[c]crying in the wilderness,
‘^(E)Make ready the way of the Lord,
Make His paths straight!’”

⁴Now John himself had ^[d]^(F)a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist; and his food was ^(G)locusts and wild honey.
